Warsaw Film School is a unique film institution, one of three in the Poland to grant BA diplomas and the only artistic school under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture to have BA International Studies in English.

We know how to do it, and we draw from experience: running school for more than 18 years, and by our lecturer’s practice. They’re among the most recognized Polish and international filmmakers, specialists in the fields of film and media.

We offer three-year undergraduate studies in form of distance learning. We will provide all essential knowledge, and our own educational tools, incl. script writing program, staging program, and editing program prepared to facilitate work by You.
How to enroll in undergraduate studies
We require the completion of a brief application form. Afterwards you will be provided with enrolment details incl. List of work samples and formal educational qualifications.

There is possibility to pay tuition in two installments.
PLEASE NOTE that all international secondary school diplomas need to be certified with an Apostille or legalized in the country where the document is issued, otherwise our School is not authorized to accept it. Legalization is carried out by a Polish consul in the country where the document originates. Please contact the Polish consulate located in your country for guidance on the legalization procedure.

💡 The goal of the "SHORT FILM" class is to introduce you to the subject of film-production with emphasis on short films and low-budget productions.
The lectures contain subjects like the basics of drama and introduction to modern screenwriting story structure as also basics of character creation, with focus on using this knowledge in short-film writing.
In following classes you will be introduced to a different filmmaking techniques, focusing on pre-production and production elements that can help you create short films in low-budget conditions.
👨🏫 FILIP HILLESLAND | Film and game director. Warsaw Film School graduate. Also studied psychology at SWPS University. One of the directors of “The Land” - a black comedy, available on Netflix worldwide. His short films gained recognition at many film festivals. During his internship at CD PROJEKT RED, he took part in directing and implementing scenes in the CYBERPUNK2077 video-game. He has directed an adventure game “Best Month Ever!”. He has also worked on film sets as 1st A.D. and 2nd A.D. In the years 2017-2019 member of the jury in the “Short Film” category at Script Fiesta screenwriting festival.

🎓 Today we present you one of the classes that you will be attending during your first year of study!
💡 During the ART OF IMAGE IN FILM" you'll be introduced to the issues of the art of cinematography. The lecturer will translate the language of technicians into the language of humanists. At this module, the following films and series will be analyzed: Joker, Succesion, Big Little Lies, Normal People, The Northman. You'll talk about the equipment, the cinematographic process, but the main subject will be “how DOP can support the actors”.
👨🏫 Meet the lecturer: KATARZYNA TARAS | She graduated at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She is a Professor of Polish National Filmschool in Łodz and Warsaw Film School. Taras is also a film critic. Her academic interests could be described in three points: the borderlines of film and literature, contemporary Polish cinema, the art of cinematography. She wrote three books: Witkacy and Film “An Egoist” or Edi? The Characters of the Latest Polish Films – the Reconnaissance, Frustrated People. Film and Literature Characters in the Face of Polish Reality after 1989. This year she will publish "Make an eye. The story about Krzysztof Ptak".
