GENERAL INFORMATION

As a participant of the distance learning programme, student receives video material, participates in online consultations (office hours) and completes homework assignments.

The Online Universal Filmmaker Programme is prepared directly to equip students with both the comprehensive knowledge and the practical skills.

VIDEO LESSONS

Each week, students receive video materials with a total length of 6 x 45 minutes, which include video lessons performed by Warsaw Film School lecturers or a set of video lessons (4 x 45 minutes) and a film (90 minutes) commissioned to watch as part of the respective theoretical subject.

This solution makes you learn whenever you want to – all you need is an internet connection! You have the flexibility to fit your studies around your schedule. With distance learning you are in charge of your time!

HOMEWORK

During their studies, students carry out homework assignments that includes practical directing and cinematography exercises, as well as screenwriting exercises and other tasks, also of a theoretical nature.

CONSULTATION

Consultations (office hours), conducted through videoconferences, serve two main purposes. First, they enable direct contact between the student and the lecturer. Secondly, consultation meetings are held to review and evaluate homework, especially practical film work.

As a result, you are in constant contact with our lecturers – active professionals in the film industry – and you can learn from the best.

ORGANIZATION OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR

The studies last 3 years and end with a diploma thesis, for which you will receive a BA Degree.

Each academic year consists of two semesters of study; in one semester, students receive up to 90 teaching hours of video materials (6 x 15 teaching hours).

The winter semester lasts from October 1 to mid-February and covers a total of 19 weeks, including 15 weeks of didactic classes and 2 weeks for the improvement of failed homework or the completion of work that has not been completed so far, i.e. 2 weeks of retake examination session.
