How does it work?

You can participate in Warsaw Film School, regardless of your  location, with no need to stay on campus The first year of the course begins on October 1st and lasts until the beginning of July.

You will receive new set of inspiring teaching materials each school week. Between classes, you will complete practical directing and cinematography exercises, scriptwriting exercises and other tasks, both practical and theoretical.

All your results will be discussed with the lecturers via video conference, which will help you to improve your skills.

How does practical part of learning process look like?

You will be asked to complete practical exercises on certain topics, with detailed guidelines given by lecturers.

Does Warsaw Film School Online grant recognizable degree?

Yes, our students are to receive internationally acclaimed a Bachelor’s Degree diploma, with 180 ECTS.

How do I enrol to Warsaw Fillm School Online?

Our Programme requires the completion of a brief application form. Afterwards you will be provided with enrolment details incl. list of work samples and formal educational qualifications.

Do I need to be fluent English speaker?

For non-native English speakers documentation of English language proficiency is required.  Level B2 or higher: IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 72 / Cambridge FCE (grade A or B)

How exactly does online college work?

The first year of the course begins on October 1st and lasts until the beginning of July.

In the first year of your apprenticeship you will receive up to 180 hours of inspiring teaching material!

Each class week consists of approximately 6 one-hour lessons.

Between classes, you will complete practical directing and cinematography exercises, scriptwriting exercises and other tasks, both practical and theoretical.

All your results will be discussed with the lecturers via video conference, which will help you to improve your skills.

Thanks to EDI you can use the gained knowledge to create your first professional film!

The software is divided into four modules:

Use WRITER to write down the story you want to tell the world.

Thanks to DOP you can plan every scene of your future film.

When you’re done shooting, use EDITOR to edit your footage.

COLORIST allows you to add the cinematic touch to the colours of your film.

Moreover, EDI was designed for you to SHARE your work with other students. Together you will create a diverse community full of inspiring people from all over the globe. Despite the distance between you, you are all going to work together in order to grow and support each other!

How does the academic calendar look like? Is there a class outline (syllabus)?

What technical skills do online students need?

Our online learning platform is designed to be as user-friendly as possible: intuitive controls, clear instructions, and tutorials guide students through new tasks. However, students still need basic computer skills to access and navigate these programs. These skills include: using a keyboard and a mouse; running computer programs; using the Internet; sending and receiving email; using word processing programs; and using forums and other collaborative tools. Most online programs publish such requirements on their websites. If not, an admissions adviser can help.

Students who do not meet a program’s basic technical skills requirements are not without recourse.

What technology requirements must online students meet? What if they do not meet them?

Students need at minimum high-speed Internet access, a keyboard, and a computer capable of running specified online learning software. Courses using identity verification tools and voice- or web-conferencing software require webcams and microphones. Smartphones and tablets alone may not be sufficient. Students who do not meet these requirements should contact schools directly to inquire about programs that can help.

How do I get access to the class materials?

Upon admission you will be provided with login and password to enter your students panel and educational tool – EDI.

How will I be graded?

Lectures will provide all students with detailed grading scales during consultations.

Who are the lecturers ?

Warsaw Film School had been active on the market for over ten years and is currently one of the fastest growing film academies in Europe. This allows us to employ a highly qualified, professionally active teaching staff of Polish and international filmmakers and film scholars. You can meet our faculty here.

How theoretical and practical classes are balanced?

The programme consists of valuable lectures, masterclasses and individual creative work under the guidance of our academic staff.

During their studies, students learn various aspects of the art of film, such as the basics of film direction and the art of cinematography, the basics of script writing, the basics of working with a camera, the language of the film, working with an actor, sound and music in film, feature and documentary film, film set organization and basics film production, basics of film editing. History of cinema and art and learn about selected issues related to the history of film production.

Apart from that students perform a series of short workshop exercises on a given topic. By assessing and analysing their own film exercises, together with the professors, they discover how their own film story can become more complete thanks to light, colour, camera movement, frame composition, etc. The program is prepared in such a way that students develop and verify the acquired skills on an ongoing basis .

What is a Bachelor’s Degree?

A bachelor’s degree is an undergraduate degree in which you study a subject of your choice at an academic institution, and is commonly known as a college degree. A Bachelor’s Degree involves at least one sequential study programme in which content is progressively developed such that it might form a basis for postgraduate study and/or professional practice. Getting a bachelor’s degree can enhance your access to job opportunities, expose you to new ideas, and boost your earning potential. A person who holds a Bachelor’s Degree might be eligible to enrol in a Postgraduate qualification.

What are the tuition fees?

Tuition fees in the form of a annual fee of EURO 8 500.
Tuition fees in the form of installment fees: 2 installments of EURO 4
500 each (1st installment payable by September 20, 2nd installment payable by February 5).
