“Introduction to Light in Film” is a fast-learning course for beginners, which combines exercising the practical skills in light- and camera- positioning and setup with an academic grounding that gives a deeper understanding about how to approach and implement light and camera setups.

During this course we present the basic knowledge through lectures, accompanied by relevant demonstrations that show how this knowledge can be applied in practice.

In parallel, practical classes, presenting a range of light setups which cover many light effects from the simple to the more complicated, are also supplemented by lectures which take place during set up and which explain in detail the purpose of our actions.

The aim is to give the student enough knowledge and practical tips to be able to shoot their own short feature film by the end of the course.
