THE SCREENPLAY IN TEN STEPS

The purpose of the module is to explain students step by step the rules of the scriptwriting. These rules are used in the film industry worldwide. They are based on the natural perception abilities of people which stay the same from the ancient times and among all cultures. The art of storytelling is as old as the humankind. First it was described by Aristotle in the ancient Greece, and in our times by Syd Field in Hollywood. I will also make the students familiar with the stages of the screenwriting process from the idea, subject, through finding the hero and writing the first draft, then the second draft and re-writing the script until it reaches its optimal form, when it can be used for the film. Screenplay is a half-product thou, serving as a basis for the group of filmmakers who film shoot and edit the film upon the content of the script.
